1. Overview

In rare circumstances, when an item under Extend cannot be repaired to showroom condition, and the item itself is discontinued from the manufacture, this results in a reselection. When this happens, there can be additional pieces within the guest’s set series that they would like included into the reselection credit. This is normally due to the fact, that the defective item causes other pieces within the set to become non functional.  

2. Extend has 5 limited set warranties which include:

• Headboard, Footboard, Rails 
• Entertainment Unit (TV Stand, Bridge, Piers) 
• Tabletop and Table base 
• Sectional 
• Buffet and Hutch  
• Dresser and Mirror

Should one of the detective items Extend is reselecting, be one of the above-mentioned limited set warranties, the guest will receive full value, on all of those pieces. The remaining items within their set series, can be included into the reselection credit, at a pro-rated value. 

3. Pro-Rated Values for Limited Set Warranties

If the guest has items that are part of the same series, but are not included in the limited set warranty, the guest can choose to re-select the other items in the set where they receive a pro-rated credit amount for each of the pieces that do not have warrantable defects. The table below shows the percentage amount that the guest would receive for these pieces based on the amount of time the pieces have been in the guest’s home: 

4. Examples

• Guest purchases a headboard, footboard, rails, dresser, mirror and two nightstands. Extend needs to replace the footboard, however the item is discontinued. This guest will receive full value on their Headboard, Footboard and Rails. They can include their dresser, mirror and two nightstands at the appropriate pro-rated value, since these items were in the same set series as the headboard, footboard, and rails.  
• Guest purchases a 3-piece sectional and 2 end table with 1 cocktail table. One piece of the sectional is unrepairable and discontinued. This guest will receive a full value on their 3-piece sectional. The end tables and coffee table are not part of the same series, therefore are not eligible to be included in the reselection credit.  
• Guest purchased a tabletop, table base, 6 chairs, 1 bench, a buffet and hutch. Extend is reselecting the bench as it cannot be repaired to a showroom condition and is discontinued. The guest will receive full value for the bench. They can include their tabletop, table base, buffet, hutch and 6 chairs at a pro-rated value since they are included in the same set series.
