TDG Coronavirus Update

  1. Overview

  3. Do I have to isolate if I experience any Covid-19 symptoms or exposure?

1. Overview

Since the beginning of March, provinces have begun lifting public health measures, increasing capacity in retail locations, and removing mask mandates. While we have not eliminated Covid-19, the high vaccination rate in Canada is giving experts the confidence to suggest that future lockdowns will likely be avoided. What’s even more encouraging is medical experts believe they now have the vaccine platforms in place that let them produce new formulations very quickly to deal with new variants.

So, while we aren’t at the point of declaring the pandemic over, we are very optimistic that business is getting back to normal. We still have challenges to contend with such as high inflationary costs, price increases, supply chain disruptions along with changing spending habits of our guests, but we have some comfort knowing that further shutdowns and operating restrictions are unlikely.

Below is a summary of current operating restrictions by province:

*While the requirement to have a specific Covid safety plan has/will be
removed, under Occupational Safety & Health the operation must consider all
risks, including Covid.

2. Despite restrictions being lifted, will TDG still require face masks to be worn?

Recognizing that different people will have different comfort levels
with removing masks, we are asking any guest-facing team members to wear a mask
if the guest is wearing a mask or if they ask you to put one on. If
a guest is not wearing a mask and is comfortable with you not wearing one, then
you are free to remove your mask if you are comfortable.

Similarly, when working together with other team members, you are free
to remove your mask if everyone is comfortable with this and no one in the group
is at risk for more severe disease from Covid-19. If you are asked
to wear a mask please respectfully comply to these requests.

3. Do I have to isolate if I experience any Covid-19 symptoms or exposure?

The guidelines TDG is using, at least consistent with provincial regulations, to determine if a team member has to isolate are:
